Hi,
I realize that this is the 4DOS group, but as I cannot find a 4NT
group, I'm posting here in the hopes that someone will know the
solution to my problem.

I have installed the FedUtils plugin, available for download from
the JPSoftware site.

The version is 1.0.7 for 4NT and Take Command Version 7.x
The FedUtils.dll is dated 2/07/2006.

I'm running 4NT Version 8.02.106, under Windows XP SP3.

All of the functions that I use from the FedUtils plugin work great.
When I close 4NT8, or attempt to remove the FedUtils plugin from
memory, (using PLUGIN /U fedutils), I get the following error message
in a Windows dialog box;

Runtime error 216 at 02C3384A.

I have written my own Plugin using Delphi 2, and I never get an
error when unloading it, or closing 4NT8.

When I remove all FedUtils files from the plugins directory, I get
no error when exiting 4NT8.

I do not know how to contact the author of FedUtils.

If there are others who have this problem with the FedUtils, please
advise if you have a solution to the error message problem when either
exiting 4NT8, or unloading the FedUtils plugin.

This is a great plugin, but the error message is a problem.

Thanks from Joe

This is quite okay. Nobody has bothered to create 4 4NT (or, for that
matter, a 4OS2, TCMD, TCC or TCC/LE) group, and JP Software has
discouraged anything outside their own webbased fora for some years.
You'll probably get more help there, since this forum is nearly dead.

As stated in the fedutils help, it is written for 4NT V. 7.nn, and will
produce still more problems in TCMD v.9 and younger, because Rex has
made changes to the plugin interface. I've been through that, asked for
help in the JP Software plugin forum years ago, and Federico C. Romano
promised a new version, which never materialized however. I haven't seen
his byline for many month now, but it is possible he still follows the
fora there. I'd say chances are slim that a new version will appear, so
it may be a bad idea to depend on a plugin that will not work in younger
versions of 4NT / TCC.

On the other hand you might have a look at the public beta of TCMD 11,
which seems to have a lot of new date handling possibilities with its
support for ISO 8601 dates.

Hi,
I recently had to re-format my hard drive, and install Windows XP
SP3.

During the re-install of 4NT8, I downloaded FedUtils from the JPSoft
site, and installed that version. That's when I started having
problems.

There was something in the back of my mind about that FedUtils
1.0.7.

I did some digging on my server, and found FedUtils 1.0.8. This is
noted in the FedUtils Help File, and the plugin is now called
FedUtils8.dll. The date of the .dll is 9/08/2006, 580,608 bytes in
size.

I removed the older FedUtils, installed this newer version, and I no
longer have any problems.

I cannot remember where I got this newer version from.

Anyways, all is well again, and the plugin works as it should.

The version I use for 4NT v8 through TCC v11 is probably the same:

date time(US ET) size CRC32
2006.09.08 20.31.23 580,608 68AE17C9

AFAIK Federico does monitor the JPsoft fora, but has been quiet for some
time.
